In addition to rehairs, there are other basic services needed by string players, including wire, thread and tinsel wraps, thumbgrips and butt leathers. Tips require a bit more skill, but you will learn the proper way to prep bows and do tip replacements, and don't forget - a good clean and polish will make your work shine. Other minor repairs may include eyelet replacement, minor cracks, and replacing slides when necessary. Discussions on other minor repairs or part replacements will occur when requested.
Add these repairs to your toolbox as Rodney D. Mohr guides you through this one-week intensive study on basic repairs. Ample time will be allotted for hands-on experience and practice. This workshop is recommended for all students and professionals interested in the study of bow repair or simply want to add to their skill repertoire for future workshop advancement. Bring plenty of good quality student bows (no carbon fiber bows please). A toolbox is available for use, so no tool purchases are necessary, however if you have tools, bring them! Tuition includes supplies and materials.
